The vision of Painted Prairie was bold: a master-planned community built for diverse and active lifestyles. But creating excitement around a “future-forward” neighborhood came with hurdles. While the parks and trails were already highlights, key amenities like the town center and more mature school systems were still “coming soon." The challenge was to help prospective homebuyers see the bigger picture and buy into the lifestyle Painted Prairie was creating—one rooted in connection, vibrancy, and long-term potential. Adding to the complexity was the perception of Aurora as “far away” from downtown Denver, with its proximity to the airport often viewed as a downside. Shifting that narrative—showcasing Aurora’s balance of accessibility, serenity, and opportunity—became part of our strategy to attract the right buyers.
Build more than a community; create a hub. Painted Prairie wasn’t just for new residents—it was designed to be a gathering place for Aurora and its surrounding areas. From attracting frequent travelers at the nearby airport to appealing to medical professionals working at Anschutz Medical Center, our goal was to showcase Painted Prairie as the perfect blend of connectivity and comfort. Cultivating energy and drawing in like-minded individuals remained key, but we also needed to position Painted Prairie as a vibrant, welcoming hub for residents, professionals, and visitors alike.
Show, don’t tell. Instead of selling homes with traditional real estate pitches, we invited people to experience Painted Prairie firsthand through immersive community events. By amplifying these events through digital marketing, we gave potential buyers a reason to visit without the pressure of navigating Denver’s chaotic housing market. From spring to summer, we created energy with live music, farmers' markets, outdoor movies, hayrides, pumpkin patches, food trucks, and more. These events showcased Painted Prairie as a place to gather, connect, and thrive. Paired with highly targeted digital ads and retargeting campaigns, our efforts drove event RSVPs, increased foot traffic, and created a ripple effect of interest across builders’ websites and sales centers.
